Events

This page introduces the annual events held in Yakoh Lab. Variety of events are scheduled as a member of IAAY, that is Inasaki Lab, Aoyama (T.) Lab, Aoyama (H.) Lab, and Yakoh Lab. Also, since year of 2003, Yakoh Lab has joined the SUM, which consists of Sawa Lab, Ohnishi-Nishi Lab, and Murakami Lab, resulting in more activities. Wouldn't you like to enjoy them with us?

April - Welcome new members

New members assigned to Yakoh Lab will be welcomed at the welcoming party. You will be introduced to senior lab members, other SUM members, and teaching staffs.

Also, training/education on computer for the new members, conducted by one of the senior members, will begin. This training is to get familiar with the computers (UNIX/Linux), networks, writing programs and writing a report using LaTeX. By the end of this training/education, you will have enough basic knowledge to get on with your research activities. Therefore, even if you are not so familiar with the computer related knowledge, there is nothing to worry in choosing Yakoh Lab.

Last but not the least, an IAAY soccer, held through out the year, will kick off with the new members!

May - Softball tournament

Members in our lab will also participate in the Yagami softball tournament, as a member of SUM or IAAY, known as one of the strongest team. Let's do our best to win the championship!!

July - Clean up and refresh!!

It's time to clean up the the laboratory. Here the messy cables will be straightened out, and if needed desks may also be rearranged, etc., so to re-start in a better environment in August.

August - SUM camp

Camp will be held with all the SUM members. In this camp, the undergraduate members will be presenting the article they've read. This will be a good practice for presentation and making resume. In the night, of course, we'll be enjoying the party.

December - Year-end party

An year-end party will be held with the lab members. By the way, although not all are listed here one by one, since drink loving members are gathered here, dirinking party will be held throughout the year. :-)

We'll get ready for the Bachelor's thesis presentation through this year-end party.

February - Thesis presentation

We'll present the fruit of an year's research. With this, an year of lab activities will come to an end. Since this would be the closing of the reseach as an undergraduate or a Master, let's work hard so to leave no regrets behind.
